Since these two major French companies joined in 2018, the Groupama-FDJ Cycling Team has performed well across the entire French and world calendars. It has also always taken care to support its leaders towards the highest level.

The recent appointment of Thierry Cornec as Managing Director, as well as the development of several internal divisions, including Philippe Mauduit as head of the Racing Division and Julien Pinot as head of the Training Division, illustrate the desire to structure the team and further develop excellence at the heart of the sporting project. For each of the team’s divisions, priority will be given to the ongoing quest for the highest level of sporting performance. Following on from the work accomplished with its new cycle partner, Wilier Triestina, the Team will continue its commitment to an in-depth research and development process for its bikes. On the strength of these developments, the Groupama-FDJ Cycling Team intends to continue to assert itself as one of the best teams in the world..

With its unique model for training young riders thanks to the creation of the ‘La Conti’ continental cycling Team in 2019, the Groupama-FDJ team will continue to invest in the future by remaining true to its tradition of integrating great French and international riders over the long term. The aim is to continue to support, train and secure its young talent, like Romain Grégoire, who has extended his commitment to the World Tour team until 2027.

Both Groupama and FDJ share the same vision of sport and have been committed to spreading it widely for many years.

Groupama, a major player in professional cycling since the creation of the Groupama-FDJ Cycling Team in 2018, is also committed to promoting cycling throughout France for the benefit of all. With ‘Ton Club, Ton Maillot’ operation, Groupama has been providing practical support for amateur cycling for the past 5 years by offering equipment (jerseys and shorts) to 480 clubs to enable more than 10,000 licence-holders to ride like pros.

The insurer is also a partner of Vélotour, a concept that enables people to discover French towns and cities and their heritage in complete safety, by means of unusual bike rides to places that are sometimes inaccessible to cyclists, while at the same time raising awareness among French people from an early age of ecomobility and good practice in safe cycling.

For its part, the FDJ Group has supported the Team since 1997, now Groupama-FDJ, and, since 2017, the women’s Team FDJ-SUEZ. As a partner of the French Cycling Federation, the National Cycling League and the men’s and women’s Tours de France, La Française des Jeux is also working to develop soft mobility through its ‘Recyclisme’ scheme, which offers free servicing of private bikes at national cycling competitions, and its ‘Remise en Selle’ training courses, which enable people in precarious situations to get back on their bikes.

Stéphane Pallez, Chief Executive Officer of FDJ :

” FDJ has been supporting Marc Madiot in his unique sporting project for twenty-eight seasons. This commitment is a real source of pride for our Group. This historic partnership, based on trust, stability and the long term, takes on its full meaning at a time when cycling is changing and becoming ever more competitive. More than 27 million customers and 29,000 FDJ retail partners live and breathe cycling throughout France. This proximity is an essential strength for La Française des Jeux.”

Thierry Martel, Chief Executive Officer of Groupama :

” As a key player in both professional and amateur cycling, Groupama is a sponsor that builds its commitments over the long term. We are convinced that together we can go further. This renewed confidence in supporting the cycling Team until 2027 is a fine illustration of the strength of Groupama’s mutualist DNA, which places the collective at the heart of its actions. This cycling Team has all the ingredients to perform at the highest level. It is with pride and ambition that the 58 000 employees and elected representatives of Groupama will continue to support and encourage the champions of the Groupama-FDJ cycling Team. “

Marc Madiot, General Manager of the Team :

” Jersey, passion, performance. First and foremost, the immense pride of wearing our colours. Respect for our commitments to Groupama and FDJ and for the rules that have shaped our team’s history. The passion for racing that drives our desires, our dreams and our collective adventure. The performance, the obsession with a job well done, the investment of each and every one of us for the collective good. For me, that’s the Groupama-FDJ Cycling Team. I’m extremely proud both of how far we’ve come and of being able to count on two partners as loyal and committed as Groupama and FDJ. “
