Tour de France
A Grand Départ in Florence, Italy, and an unprecedented finish in Nice
For the first time in its history, the Tour de France will set off from Italy, and more specifically from Florence, for four stages in this country with a strong cycling culture. The first four stages will be rough and tricky, allowing the riders in the General Classification to discover each other, with a crossing of the Franco-Italian border and a finish in Valloire after climbing the Galibier.
In addition to the Grand Départ in Italy, the festivities will not stop there, a 25km individual time trial is scheduled, followed by a brand-new stage on white roads to Troyes two days later. The mountains will be omnipresent, with the crossing of the Apennines in Italy, the Alps, the Massif Central and the Pyrenees.
A special feature of this 2024 Tour de France is that the finish will not be on the mythical Champs Elysées avenue, but rather on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, due to the 2024 Olympic Games being held in Paris.
An offensive team ready for any terrain!
Whether in the mountains, on the flat, in the valleys, in time trials or on the white roads of Troyes, the Groupama-FDJ Cycling Team will be offensive with a versatile squad ready to win.
