The race line-up
The Giro d’Italia (Tour of Italy in English) is a stage cycling race created in 1909 by the newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport. It is considered as the second most important race of the Grand Tours of the UCI World Tour calendar just behind the Tour de France.
Like the Tour de France and its famous yellow jersey, the Giro d’Italia is categorized by its pink jersey which remembers the colors of the Gazzetta dello Sport, its foundator.
A departure in Budapest, Hungary, Attila Valter’s country !
On this year 2022, the three Grand Tours will start from abroad and it is in the Hungarian capital, Budapest, Attila Valter’s native country that the riders will leave for these three intense weeks on the the Italian roads. The one who lived life in pink during last Giro d’Italia will be keen to race in front of its own fans.
Arnaud Démare and his train returning to Italy after a tremendous 2020 edition
After 4 victories and 1 cyclamen leader’s jersey by points, Arnaud Démare and his train left the Giro 2020 with resounding success. This year, they are willing to get back to the win column with a course suitable for sprinters. In fact, more than 5 massive sprint finishes are planned.
